After few weeks in Office the Revenue Mobilization
Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC published the annual salary of
President, Vice President, Senate President and Speaker House of
Representatives, as well as other Law makers in both the National and State
Assemblies and also other Public Officers in Nigeria.
According to RMAFC reports President Buhari will receive an
annual salary and Allocation of N14.4 million. Break down Analysis shows that
his Basic Salary is N3,514,705 and hardship allowance, N1,757,350:50.,
Constituency N8,786,762:50 and leave Allowance – N351,470.
Mr President will receive a 400 percent in his salary
amounting to N14.058 million, as gratuity upon a successful completion of
his tenure. The government is to provide him with all his needs including
Vehicles, entertainment, Security, Special Assistant, Personal Assistant,
clothing, medical bills, newspapers and also utility bills but the President’s
estacode and Duty Tour Allowance was not specified.
The Vice President, is to receive N12.126,290 million
annually, the break down shows that the Basic Salary amounts to N2,064,400 ,
Hardship allowance N1,515,786.25 and Constituency Allowance of N7,578,931. About
75 percent of the Vice President's basic salary would be paid for vehicles and their
maintenance that’s if he chooses to maintain or buy his vehicle.
The VP is to receive another 25 percent to hire his personal
assistant, 45 percent for entertainment, 75 percent for domestic staff and 30
percent for utility. He is also to receive a separate 20 percent of his salary
for monitoring, 200 percent for accommodation and 300 percent for
furniture. H e will receive N35,000 for
his duty tour allowance per night, and an estacode of $900 per night.
His leave Allowance is 10 percent of his Salary and 300
percent as gratuity upon a successful completion of his tenure.
